Nick True

Chemical Engineering 2028
Frankfurt, Kentucky

Hailing from Frankfort, Kentucky, while Nicholas True can't quite ride horses or rope cattle, he sure has what it takes to be an excellent advisor. Nick's greatest ability is his availability. Nothing can stop him from being out and about, not even spraining his ankle on Beer Bike morning. He's one of the easiest people to find on campus, with his favorite spots being Will Rice Commons, Fondren Library, and Turrell Skyspace (only at night though). Some of Nick's favorite pastimes include running the outer loop at 3 AM (he thinks he's David Goggins), complaining about the Rockies being terrible (nobody cares bro), and switching majors (still not sure if he's pre-med, business, engineering, or pre-law). But if you really want to get him talking, just mispronounce 'Louisville' and watch how he reacts. In all seriousness, Nick is one of the most genuine and dependable people I know. Whether you need someone to listen to your late-night rants, stand in the stir-fry line when you're running late, or simply study with you for an exam, Nick will always have your back. So consider yourself lucky, you've gained not only a great O-Week dad but also an excellent friend

Kamisi Adetunji

Chemistry 2027
Holly Springs, NC

"Kamisi, Kamisi, Kamisi!"
Did you hear that? That's all of Kamisi's many fans cheering her on for her second O-Week mom journey (don't worry, you'll def be her favorite!). Kamisi is the smartest, bestest, funniest, most giving girl at Rice. We have personally seen her save a family of 20 from a fire at age 6! But seriously, she's always willing to help you in any way. Kamisi is a Sonic slushie loving pre-med chemistry major from North Carolina. She is extremely hard working and the best person to go to if you ever have questions or need advice.
If she's not in commons (or her designated separate napping bed), you can find Kamisi all over campus at one of her 3000 jobs (Tea Nook trip anyone?) or drawing (doing chem homework) in Fondy snack lounge. Ever need a show/movie rec? If it's on Netflix, she's watched it and if she hasn't, she's always down for movie night! Be warned though, she also has a crippling Welch's fruit snack addiction and loves sweet treats. No amount of words can express how lucky you are to have Kamisi as your advisor this year!

Gwyneth Perez

Civil and Environmental Engineering 2026
Houston, TX

GET HYPE! You won the lottery with Gwyneth as your Will Rice advisor and honestly one of the most genuine people you'll meet at Rice. Born and raised in Houston, she brings a thoughtful and grounded presence wherever she goes. As a Civil Engineering major and campus tour guide, Gwyneth knows the ins and outs of life at Rice and is always ready to share her insight with warmth and honesty. You can usually find her in O'Connor, Pepsi in hand, and fully locked into her studies. But don't let the calm energy fool you. She is a strawberry matcha lover, a Tyler the Creator superfan, a proud kitty lover (meow), and someone who just happens to play eight instruments. Gwyneth also helps run the show at Chaus as a beloved KOC (keeper of coffee) and is always up for a good conversation or a quiet moment to unwind. Whether you need advice, a study buddy, or someone to just be there, Gwyneth is already in your corner. With her by your side, Will Rice will feel like home in no time.

Ethan Huang

Architecture 2028
Austin, TX

Who's that Pokemon? It's PIKACHUUUU! NO, it's actually just the bleached blonde baddie Ethan Huang. Forged from the chaotic fires of Austin, Texas, bleached by questionable life choices and bad hair dye. Life is at least never boring with Ethan as your parent, you will likely be persuaded into wasting countless hours with him playing some mindless game like Dragonvale or Pokemon (you should do it anyway). He's a mad Archi genius and creative mastermind hard at work, just don't ask him how to design roofs. If you ever need to find him, he's most likely at Poke in the Bowl, studio, or sleeping -- even if it's the middle of the day. But if you need someone to bother late at night or call someone in a crisis, he's your guy (as long as the crisis isn't on the highway). Please, I beg you, never get in a car with him behind the wheel. Even with the driving skills of a distracted squirrel, at least he looks fire in his thrifted fits. Congrats to those who have Ethan as your father, you didn't just get lucky, you got the best, after all you can never go wrong with Ethan Huang.
