Before you go
Move-in will be on August 17th, all on the same day! Specific driving instructions and times for move-in will be emailed in late July / early August. As a heads up, you can only move into Will Rice College during your assigned move-in time. If you don’t come at your assigned time, we will NOT be ready for you. If there is an unforeseen travel problem or emergency, please contact us as soon as possible!
What to Pack
Houston weather is generally hot and humid most of the year, with a colder spell in winter months, so bring clothes for both kinds of weather! Be prepared for heavy rains — rain boots and jackets are a good idea, and always keep an umbrella in your bag. From O-Week Matriculation to dinners with professors, to dances or award ceremonies, consider bringing some more formal attire to dress up for the occasion. On the flip side, Rice has a pool on campus at the Rec, and we aren’t too far of a drive from Galveston, so bring a bathing suit if you would like to go for an occasional swim to cool off from the Texas heat!
